We have a wide range of forestry machinery including a harvester and multiple forwarders.

Forestry Consultancy

To help you look after your woodlands, we can provide advice on a full range of subjects, including:
AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF MANAGEMENT - Through a combination of survey work and on-site meetings, we will use our knowledge and experience of forest management to establish a full set of aims for managing your woods. From this coherent starting point we can produce short, medium and long term management plans combining such objectives as timber production, nature conservation, recreation & sports.
FORECAST & BUDGETS - We can produce annual or long-term income budgets and assess the costs of management of your woods to allow you to manage the woodland account more effectively.
GRANTS & FUNDING - All of our Management staff are fully up to date with current Forestry Grant Schemes and the associated legislation, including the new Woodfuel Woodland Improvement Grant. We can advise you on the best options for finding financial help to manage your woodlands from the Forestry Commission, Local Authorities and other Funding Bodies such as local Woodland initiatives and conservation groups.
LOCAL AUTHORITY REPRESENTATION - Our Staff are experienced in Local Authority work and can help navigate the legal requirements of Tree Preservation Orders (TPO's), Conservation Areas and Planning Applications and Appeals with reference to the Town and Country Planning Act.

Forestry Contracting

We use trained teams and our own plant and equipment to offer a full range of contracting services.
ESTABLISHMENT - Site preparation, including excavation, levelling and removal of existing rough vegetation, fencing, whether to protect young trees from browsing damage by deer, rabbits, stock etc. or to simply keep your woodland boundary in good order; tree planting, including protection with tubes and stakes and also aftercare.
MAINTENANCE - Beating-up and cleaning of new plantations, re-spacing of young trees, coppicing and re-coppicing, pest and weed control, ride swiping, mulching, glade creation, pollarding and other conservation work.

Sales & Valuations

We can help you calculate income from your woodlands, in order to help you manage them more effectively. We can assess timber values and mark parcels of timber for sale, either standing, at stump or roadside. We can set up tenders to achieve the best price in the current markets, or arrange for the timber to be sent to auction for sale.
