Staying safe whilst choosing your Christmas Tree at Dowdeswell Forestry

Before you visit us this year please read our guidelines below as you and your family will be asked to comply with our new measures.
To help ensure all our customers and staff stay safe we would like to ask the following of you;
- If you’re unwell with any COVID-19 symptoms, have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or have a confirmed case in your household please do not visit us. Symptoms include but are not limited to a high temperature, persistent new cough or loss of sense of smell or taste.
- You do not need to book a slot, but the number of customers will be limited during busy periods. A queuing system will be in operation, which will require you to stand in line outside, very similar to the process in place at many retail stores.
- All visitors MUST wear a face covering, over your mouth and nose as per Government Ruling (unless exempt)
- Please ensure you use hand sanitiser upon entry to the tree viewing area and also before entering the reception area to pay. We ask that only 1 person visits the reception to pay.
- Please wear sturdy, suitable footwear.
- Please consider whether you can come during a week-day to spread the load and avoid queues. We are much quieter in the week than at weekends and are open from 8am to 7pm during the week so it would really help reduce queueing if you could try and avoid the peak time of Friday afternoon and Saturday and Sunday if this is at all possible.
- Where possible please minimise the numbers of family that visit and we ask that you stay together whilst shopping – this is for all our safety. If you are visiting with your children, we ask that you supervise them at all times and ensure that they follow social distancing measures.
- Please leave dogs in vehicles at all times.
- We ask you to follow our on-site instructions and maintain the 2m distance from other households and our staff at all times. Please be patient and follow our one-way systems which are in place for your safety.
- Please try not to touch fences, barriers, signs etc. wherever possible.
- When interacting with customers our staff will maintain social distancing at all times for the protection of everyone.
- Staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE for the areas that they are working in.
- We would prefer wherever possible that visitors pay by card or contactless payments, to limit the risk.
- For those who do not feel comfortable visiting, we are offering a delivery service within 20 miles – charge dependent on size of tree. Please see this page for prices
- Please make sure your car is ready for the Christmas Tree to be put into before visiting the site.
These measures are intended to keep everyone safe and to provide a pleasant and secure environment.
We really look forward to seeing you this Christmas and thank you for your support during this challenging time and wish you a very Merry Christmas!
